Intern, Office of the Assistant Secretary: Water and Science, Washington, District Of Columbia
DOI Office of the Secretary

How Caitlin Brown got involved with DOI Office of the Secretary
After getting accepted to the Bing Stanford in Washington Program, I worked with the program coordinator to find a full time internship placement. With my interest in water policy, the DOI internship in the Office of the Secretary was a perfect fit.

Experience
The highlight so far has been getting to work with Anne Castle, the Assistant Secretary of Water and Science. She spent time working with me on my policy writing.

Caitlin Brown's accomplishments
The projects I have worked on: Glen Canyon Dam policy issues, WaterSMART, Cooperative Watershed Management Program, and the Urban Waters Initiative.

Caitlin Brown's next steps
I am leaving here to begin my summer job as the Head Logistics Coordinator for the Outward Bound High Sierra Base. After that, I will return to Stanford for my senior year. I hope to take Water Law and Environmental Law through the Law School to prepare me to come back to DC. I think that law school is in my future, but I want to work before applying.
