How Brianna Davis got involved with U.S. Geological Survey
I volunteered last year at the U.S. Geological Survey for Research Geologist, John Reptski. I liked it so much, I volunteered for over a year. I then applied for a summer internship through the community college (Northern Virginia Community College) I was attending at the time. I am now a Physical Science Technician for the Eastern Energy Resources Science Center in Reston, Virginia.
I will remember the overwhelming number of peers/coworkers that were willing to take the time to teach me new skills and give me the information that I needed to be successful in this field. My entire experience with the USGS has been very rewarding and I have gained valuable information that will help me in the future.
Brianna Davis' next steps
I plan to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Master’s Degree in Geology from Virginia Commonwealth University. I would love nothing more but, to find a full-time position within the U.S. Geological Survey to further my education in the sciences.
